Akio Tsukino
Update Two

I've been struggling lately on what topics I want to talk/write about. Part of that fear is not knowing whether my next piece of writing will be as good as the one before it. This, I know, is silly. I understand that you must continue to create to get better at it, and that no skill ever has a clean linear progression. And yet it still haunts me.
Another big reason for the draught is the shear number of topics floating around in my head that I want to shed light on. Normally I would be struggling to find inspiration for what to write about, and yet, now I find myself overloaded with the burden of choice. It feels wrong to give attention to one topic over another especially when alot of what I want to talk about involves some very serious topics.
At the end of the day though, I need to get out of my head and sit at my computer in order to put something out into the world. Perfection can come later, what matters is I don't stop long enough for dust to accumulate.
Getting to actual site updates now, I have recently added like buttons to all of my writings, which I am not too happy with just yet. I'm playing around with the idea of tracking metrics and yet it doesn't seem to me like a good idea given the attributes I have. Only the test of time will tell whether or not that feature persists.
I have also added a brand new section! I wanted to catalogue all of my favourite movies in one place, acting as a sort of archive. In the future as well, I do plan on showcasing more media which inspire me, but for now you can check out the movies section of my site.

With this website still being in its infancy, I am having trouble deciding on much of what is to come. Most of the design and aesthetics of the site are solid, but plenty of layout issues still persist. That obviously will get ironed out over time as I become more familiar with the site.
What is a major concern for me at this time however, is the content that is going to be put on this site. I have experimented before with archiving, journaling, blogging, and just generally a myriad of other features. What I found is that often leads to everything being half-baked. Right now, just focusing on improving my writings and the formatting, etc for those have been quite fruitful. On that front, I don't plan on narrowing the types of content I will continue to write about either. For the future, expect more of random ramblings, retrospectives, hyperfixated research projects, heartfelt analysis and more. My best work is done when I let inspiration take over freely.
That being said, I do plan on recalling both "Burn Down the Paper Straw Factory" and "Of Sticks Stone and Steel", and reworking them. They were honestly quite rushed and are leagues weaker than the other writings I have done. Plus, they don't add anything to my style repertoire either and diminishes some of my other works. What I had been aiming to say in those writings is still relevant however, and thus I do plan on revisiting those as soon as possible.
The latest work, as of now, "The Sky Beasts Look Different Today" did take quite an effort to both research and write. I debated on whether or not to take a break for a while after that but have since decided that I still have it in me to write some more before I truly burn out. And burn out I will, whether or not I accept it. I just have to be receptive of that and give myself the appropriate time so that I don't end up writing "slop" at one point.
With all of that out of the way, in terms of ACTUAL site updates, I am working on adding a like button to each writing and allow for tag sorting of writings under the writings page. The RSS Feed has also been fully set up and everything to do with the site domain has been taking care of. For the foreseeable future, this website is going to be under the akiotsukino.com domain.
